  • Disburses funds following receipt of expenses
  • Prepares reports relating to Staff Development Fund and Local Financials (monthly statements, annual budget, and year-end audits)
  • Serves on Finance and Staff Development Advisory Committee as a non-voting member and secretary
  • Manages and processes grant-in-aid, donations, scholarships, MEAF and payroll (salary, benefits, pension, CRA)

  • Responsible for all reception duties including answering phone calls, managing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail

  • Responsible for organizing Council of School Representatives elections, maintains CSR list and distributes information to CSR representatives
  • Supports the Communications, Diversity Equity & Human Rights, Professional Development, Political Action, Scholarship, Strategic Planning & Resource, Women in Leadership Committees, Substitute Teachers’ Group Directorate and their respective subcommittees by preparing online meetings, agendas, minutes, and meeting materials
  • Assists and coordinates with the PD Committee, DEHR Committee, STG Directorate, Women in Leadership and PAC Committees with workshop/event planning, bookings, advertisement materials and registrations
  • Assists with material distribution and preparation for the CSR and General Meetings
  • Receives and processes the Local 38 Heritage Scholarship, the John Laurie Scholarship, the Black Canadian Scholarship, and the 2SLGBTQQIA+ Scholarship
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the local website
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the Calgary Public Teachers Local 38 PD Review website
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the Local 38 Square merchandise site as well as distributing orders
